So much hate in our world
This is one of the more egregious violations. Children praying at church on their 2nd day of school.
But we don't need to be part of it!

Nobody can make us hate or love them.
in most cases, we give them what we feel they deserve based on our perception of their behavior or what they represent to us.
We have the power to consciously decide to give people more of our love than what they deserve.
The cool thing is that it’s not like giving money or giving things that require time.
Those things are limited and run out.
It’s the complete opposite with love. Not only is the supply unlimited but the more of it we give, the more love grows, not shrinks inside of us.
Adding to that even more is the increase of love that we get back from our gift of love to others.
It’s easy and natural to love a lovable person. Everybody can do this and it’s a great thing.
Loving an unlovable person is a bit much if that person doesn’t deserve it. In that case, at least don’t hate them…..even when they give you good reason to hate them.
Hatred for SOME people in your heart will go a long way towards cancelling out the benefits of having love for OTHER people.
.......oh yeah!

The data reporting from your 2 sources is suspicious. One says 10.6 / 100,000 the other says 4.382 / 100,000. To big of a difference to be reliable.
Thanks, cutworm!
That was intentional to show 2 different sources but there was 8 years between the time frames.
Interestingly, the one with the lower number is the more alarming article when comparing it to similar countries that have MUCH lower numbers. This stat is actually more updated, it appears thru 2024.
The one with the higher number is the one comparing it with all the worst countries in the world and has us ranked 20th. This was only updated thru 2016.
My opinion is that whether it the lower number, 4.2 or whether its the higher number 10.6 or some number in between, it tells the exact same story.
I assume from your comment that you must know the REAL number. What is that one, please? I'll be more than happy to accept that one.
Here's another, more comprehensive study that tells us the same thing:
https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2025/03/05/what-the-data-says-about-gun-deaths-in-the-us/
As you know, cutworm Indiana is one of the states that allows us to carry guns around without a license to carry a gun. The law that allows that went into effect in July 2022.
Before that, I had a lifetime license to carry a gun for the past 2 decades. I also own 3 guns. 1 hand gun under the drivers seat in my car. 1 hand gun next to my bed and another rifle.
I never touched a gun until 1983, when I was chief meteorologist on WEHT-TV and a stalker broke into my apartment, stealing my photo albums, then broke in a month later and burned it down and I lost everything. I obviously wasn't home at the time. In fact, I was on tv, doing the Santa Clothes telethon to raise money to buy complete outfits for poor kids, so the stalker knew my schedule.
They never caught him. I also had somebody shoot at me on the way home in 1985, just after getting married. The bullet hit the top of my car, 6 inches above my head as I was driving north on HWY 41 at 60 mph. I had just left the tv station after doing the 10pm news, so again whoever tried to kill me knew my schedule.
My biggest concern after getting married was that they would come after my wife and daughter when I was at work, so I got a German Shepherd.
Haven't had anything happen like that for 35 years........that lingered from my days as a tv celebrity.
However, my wife had an ex employee stalker. She busted him sabotaging the work place and fired him. We did a background check and found out that he had been in prison for kidnapping a girl and also had been convicted of 2 other stalking charges of 2 other women. We were shocked that he wasn't still in prison. He was using a burner phone to stalk my wife. He was trying to extort $10,000 from her with a crazy scheme that involved him contacting some of her customers to say bad things if she didn't pay and pretending that he was some other guy.
I made my wife practice shooting one of my pistols in the backyard and take it with her in her purse even though she didn't have a license to carry 10 years ago. This guy's history meant he was extremely dangerous. I also got her some mace and she practiced using it. I was getting ready to report him to the cops and have a restraining order issued(he thought he was Mr. Clever and we didn't know it was him but I had several pieces of evidence) but was going to confront him first, to show him my evidence and let him know that he was going back to jail to get him to stop first. I realized that could actually trigger him to do something more extreme to hurt my wife and waited a few more days.
He got another job here and immediately hooked up with a woman that worked there, moved in with her and completely forgot about my wife. He ended up beating her on numerous occasions, getting kicked out, then stalking her. She had to get a restraining order. He finally moved again to some other town. He came here from MN, ironically.
So I understand the need for people to have guns for self defense. Ironically, I grew up in Detroit during the 1970's, when it was the murder capital of the world.
Here's more:
I had my car stolen, while it was parked on a busy street a few blocks from the University of Detroit in 1975 while I was attending classes there. The cops found it after they had taken all 4 wheels/tires and left it in an abandoned garage several block away. A few weeks later, it was totaled by an extremely drunk driver. When I called the cops from a pay phone, they asked if anybody was seriously injured. I said no. They said "we're sorry but we no longer send officers to anything but major accidents with injuries that require an ambulance because we're too busy fighting serious crime".
Around a year later, I got my head bashed in by a tire iron, outside in the parking lot of Schaefer Bar(1/2 mile from the house that I grew up in and the local hangout for my friends-the drinking age was 18 then) on Easter morning 1976. I beat the guy up earlier in a fight that he picked with me but I was tougher than him. He wanted revenge. I took the guy to court and the judge gave him probation when he could have killed me. The problem was the fight earlier that I won caused the judge to understand why it was reasonable from him to want to bash my head in with a tire iron for it
A few feet away, in the same parking lot but on a different night, a year later, a young cop, Norm/Norb Szczygiel (that grew up across the street from us) had been shot to death. Lucky for me, the guy I encountered was armed with a tire iron and not a gun(or I would be dead). Not so lucky for Norm and he was armed with a gun!!!
Funny how I moved to a much smaller, rural town and found out about crime here too. So I get it when it comes to fighting crime and the need to have a gun for self defense. and bad things can happen anywhere.
+++++++++++++=
I just fact checked myself on Norm's death and found out it was actually at a different bar a couple miles away. All these years I've been thinking it was the same bar! It happened 48 years ago this week.

I apologize for going in a bit of a different direction than what this thread was intended for. (I tend to do that )
To provide empathy for the families of the children that were mowed down and their community at this mass shooting.
CNN has done a spectacular job covering this horrific event based on humanity and NOT politics.

"I assume from your comment that you must know the REAL number"
Why would you ASSUME that I know the real number. Just because I note big differences in the numbers. Both articles were from very left leaning sources. A scientist questions everything.
Thanks extremely much, cutworm!
I'll just copy YOUR words.
"One says 10.6 / 100,000 the other says 4.382 / 100,000. To big of a difference to be reliable."
"Why would you ASSUME that I know the real number."
How can you definitively state that those 2 numbers are not reliable unless you actually know the real number???
Maybe its exactly 10.6 or exactly 4.382 and just one of them is wrong and the other one right?
Maybe they are both right but they were derived from a different data set?
Maybe the 8 years between them made a difference?
You haven't provided your own data set and are only bashing mine because you don't like what they say.
I encourage you again to provide us with your own facts and data. Since you gave your reason to reject them is that they came from left leaning sources, then please provide a right leaning source with the REAL data for us..
I am not insisting that either one is exactly right. They both make the exact same point as did the additional, even more comprehensive source.
Again, please show us your R data or give us the reason(s) for why BOTH of these numbers are not reliable(other than they came from the left, with 0 to back it up) and I promise to view it with an open mind with the hope that I will learn something.
Thanks in advance, metmike!
This is especially why i enjoy opinions that differ than me. It's the best way for people with open minds to learn new things (if they want to learn).
it's like this
if one source says global temps rose 1degree and another says .4 degrees, how do you know? which if either is right.
I think 1 source was 2013-2019 the other 2016?
Did they cherry pick the data? don't know.
it's like this
if one source says global temps rose 1degree and another says .4 degrees, how do you know? which if either is right.
Perfect example, cutworm!
You're dang right I would know which one is right if I'm making it my business to critique both those studies.
And if I didn't know the correct answer, I would never bash both of them, since 1 of them could be right on the money.
Your reason for them to be wrong is that they are sources from the left.
OK, great. If that's valid, then since you are from the informed right and your sources are better, then please tell us what the actual number is.
If you really don't know, it's ok to not know but you are going to get some heat here when you have no idea what the answer is or what you are talking about but you tell us that you somehow know what the answers are not..............anything that comes from the left or that is not from the right because you completely reject ALL information from the left.
I have news for you, cutworm. Sometimes the left gets it exactly right. How can you know when those times are when you won't believe anything unless it’s from the right?
Regardless, I appreciate your views from the right and you are always welcome to express them.
One of my hopes here is for people to be LESS close-minded and for them to appreciate more than just their side but unfortunately I'm losing that battle.
Losing it badly because of sources like Fox News that tell people what they want to hear For ratings.
Do you think this is true?

Activists are pointing to the attacker’s gender identity to falsely portray all transgender people as prone to mental illness and violence.
+++++++++++++
The 1 hour Jesse Watters show on Fox the evening after the shooting was the most pathetic 60 minutes of television in history.
There was almost nothing about the victims and their families. How this was impacting them and the community. Almost the entire hour from start to finish was about bashing transgender people. Insisting this was the cause of ithe shooting and if this person hadn't changed their sex, none of it would have happened. Warning viewers about how unstable and dangerous all transgender people are based on the condition. They had a couple of so called experts on to pile on with non stop hate speech targeting transgender people. This went on from the opening minute, right to the end.
No stories or coverage about the humanity and devastating losses, that has been the focus on CNN all week. No empathy for the victims, their families and the community….just hate speech for a political ideology.
Following this, Hannity had his 60 minutes of pathetic broadcasting. Doing the transgender bashing but spending much of his time twisting this event to be the result of the Ds being weak on crime and that if only Donald Trump had been in charge, this never would have happened. Seriously, he stated that numerous times with video from D.C. and the National guard shown many times as an example of how President Trump fights crime
Earlier that day, we had a horrific mass shooting of children and Hannity, like Watters didn't cover that. He covered how great Donald Trump is at fighting crime.
Ironically, he kept insisting that the democrats and all the lamestream media stations were using this for their political agenda and political ideologies.
Fox viewers don't watch(listen to) those sources BUT I DO!.
Hannity was lying his arse off. He and Fox had the franchise for being the egregious violators of using this horrific incident ENTIRELY for their hate speech and Trump cheerleading. While the other stations that I watch, especially CNN but also ABC and NBC covered the NON political, HUMAN elements.
++++++++++++++
I did some research on this. There is an enormous amount of violence associated with trans people but guess what, it's not committed by them but instead is against them and THEY are the victims, PARTLY because of the hate speech spewed out to millions of Rs watching Fox News for instance. Teaching them to hate AND TARGET trans people because they are trans.
