It's funny, how sometimes, when bad things are happening......even really bad things, we just go on with our wonderful lives, either in ignorance, denial or complacency in the case of knowing but deciding its not important.
We must do this to some extent!
Dwelling on all the bad things would drive a person to insanity..........or at least into a deep depression.
The war in Gaza, the war in Ukraine, the war in Iran, the Epstein files, corrupt politicians, the tariffs............etc, etc.
I'm not the first person to point this out. It's what turns many people away from politics and following the news closely. I know several, including my wife who has enough stress with her job and can't afford to waste time fretting over things that they/she can't do anything about. Telling people that she knows about it, just drags them down, or even upsets them if they have a different political mentality.
In thinking about that personally, I have to consider those same things but also feel an obligation to use this site for the reasons I am here. Not to make money by selling ads or posting things that people want to read to increase hits/traffic for profits.
It's to share my God given abilities as an analyst in every field/realm that I can share...........while learning in the process.

I have no affiliation with either party and conduct business using the scientific method, after gathering , comprehensive, authentic facts and applying this to reach objective discernment.
This is always done with sincerity, while trying to respect and learn from opposing views and often to speak out, using MarketForum as a platform to enlighten readers about things that are really wrong in the world that violate my personal ethical standards and should violate everybody's ethical standards.
And while trying to experience personal growth at the same time, which we should always be a top priority for all of us.
Regardless of where we are in life, time ticks by at the same rate for everybody and we all have the same questions posed to us every morning when we wake up.
1. Do we want things to get better in our lives? Stay the same? Nobody intentionally chooses to make them worse!
2. Will we allow things to get worse because of things we can control?
3. What things should we accept because we have no control?
Almost nobody actually asks themselves those questions. However, every day we answer them with our thoughts and actions. Those answers determine to a large extent the direction that our lives take...........staying the same in many cases but sometimes getting better because of conscious choices............or NOT getting better and even getting worse because of subconscious choices.
So the point is this.
Every day, when you wake up, ask yourself the first question above.
1. Do we want things to get better in our lives?
And work towards taking actions that are DIFFERENT than those that are causing things to stay the same or getting worse. So profound but so easy if we just do 1 little thing that day with that objective in mind. Here are some suggestions.
2. Intentionally learn something new. It can be about your favorite topic or it can be about something you knew nothing about before today.
3. Do something to make the world a better place. Not THE ENTIRE world. Just your tiny world. Pay your wife a compliment or say something nice to her.........or somebody that you take for granted. Smile and say hi to complete strangers. There are hundreds of other opportunities for those interested in making a difference but those 2 examples are 2 that everybody, everywhere can do every day.
4. Try to forgive people that you are ticked off at or that messed you over, understand people's points that you disagree with or just decide to tolerate them with the understanding that they are human beings, like you that have the same rights which sometimes includes making choices that would be very unacceptable for you.
5. Know the difference between right and wrong and don't let politics or people telling you what you want to hear/read interfere with your personal, ethical belief system. Neither party has it right all the time and both parties are REALLY wrong some of the time. If your allegiance is always with 1 party, 100% of the time, you will be sacrificing your personal ethical belief system some of the time.
6. Try to identify thoughts and actions that are counterproductive or a wasted use of time. Are you the moderator of a forum that spends too many hours, obsessively posting? I don't know anybody like that Do you get caught up following just 1 sided, biased opinions on social media because that makes you feel good?
7. Look around and appreciate all the wonderful things in the technological, medical/scientific and convenience/comfort world and compare it to what our ancestors had just 200 years ago.
8. Look outside and be impressed by the enormity of the natural world surrounding us and even more so, beyond our small backyard, the entire planet!
9. Do something productive around the house that you know you should be doing/or should have done but you keep procrastinating on. I'm the guiltiest person here about this!
Doing any one of those things can only cause our lives TO GET BETTER. Maybe not that much better on that day but a small number X 365 days ends up being a pretty big number.
These are just a few ideas and there are countless more that I'm not thinking about.
Thanks, Mike. Those are some good, positive thoughts! I bet this person would have loved your post:
"Empty pockets never held anyone back. Only empty heads and empty hearts can do that.”
-the late Norman Vincent Peale (as controversial as he was especially in regard to his feeling about Catholics (there’s no excuse for that terrible attitude toward them; also, he was against Adlai Stevenson because he was divorced?), I did very much like his positive thinking emphasis)
The 5 Presidents from Nixon through daddy Bush admired him.
Thanks a ton, Larry!
I remember him and this is a wonderful quote to add to our quote of the day page!
