Trump’s “Golden Dome” Won’t Work—but It’ll Make Elon Musk Richer
For 40 years, missile defense has never been about keeping America safe. It’s all about the contracts.

More corrupt military-industrial-political complex wasteful spending.

This time, to ramp up the rewards to the  charlatan that has received many tens of billions in free government money the past decade.

As Musk works to slash federal spending, his own firms have received billions in government contracts

The president-elect has asked Elon Musk to wage war on regulations — some of which helped make Tesla the world’s most valuable automaker.

Tesla built Musk’s vast wealth through climate credits. Trump may end them.

Elon Musk has said America is being “strangled to death” by regulations. But the billionaire’s car company, Tesla, might not have survived without them.

The electric automaker earned $10.7 billion from selling credits created by government climate programs — a total that accounted for a third of Tesla’s profits over the last decade, according to an analysis of securities filings by POLITICO’s E&E News. In the first nine months of 2024, some 43 percent of its net income came from those credits, which Tesla sold to rival carmakers after exceeding climate mandates in California and elsewhere.

It's been 3 months now and Musk has been cutting dozens of programs that are far more worthy than this complete waste of  money. But he's left it alone.

This by itself is profound evidence that Musk is more concerned about his own self interests than those of Americans. Thanks  for bringing this up cutworm. I just learned something new thanks to you!

Added: the programs and markets used to regulate carbon credits are different than most others on the Musk list  and this is mainly being imposed in liberal, D hold jurisdictions but  he seems to have free rein with regards to going after any waste.
