Prior to that:

This was sent by Trump at 7:19AM:

I have long ago informed Tim Cook of Apple that I expect their iPhone’s that will be sold in the United States of America will be manufactured and built in the United States, not India, or anyplace else. If that is not the case,a Tariff of at least 25% must be paid by Apple to the U.S. Thank your for your attention to this matter!

Apple Stock Falls After Trump Threatens Tariffs on Foreign-Made iPhones

Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives has estimated that making an iPhone in the U.S. would probably lead to a retail price of around $3,500 compared with around $1,000 currently, and it would take years to build the necessary production capacity.

This is what I've been saying about trading any market right now being unusually dangerous because of President Trump.

When he comes out with impulsive decisions based on his mood that day, the markets have extreme knee jerk reactions.

MAGA thinks this is all part of his brilliant, master plan. No matter what he does and how much it violates irrefutable principles that define relationships between the US and our trading partners.

However this turns out.........Trump will be a genius.

Never mind that he's destroying his credibility  and embarrassing the US.

The markets have accepted this as the new normal!

This is the exact point I've been making about Trumps lack of ability to understand the principles of economics  between rich and poor counties in the global economy which will ALWAYS feature a massive trade imbalance.

Even if Trump knows this is impossible and this is some sort of deranged negotiating tactic, the tactic itself is COUNTER productive.

Apple can't do what Trump is demanding without massive harm to itself AND to US consumers, so this would be like a young child banging his head against the wall every night for 2 months,  unless Mommy lets him have candy only for supper every night instead of what she makes for him.

1. Having candy only for supper every night will HURT Baby Donny, so the demand is to get something harmful to him that will never happen because the adult in the room follows the responsible principles of parenting.

2. Finally, Baby Donny stops banging his head against the wall after 60 days, when Mommy agrees to give Baby Donny some candy after he eats his nutritious dinner and sees banging his head against the wall as a major negotiating victory.

3. Problem is that Baby Donny could have had that deal to begin with and now, he has permanent brain damage from banging his head against the wall for 60 days demanding candy only for dinner.

Watching the Trump interview right now.

WOW!

He insists that Apple can make their electronics in the United States at the same cost of production they can anywhere else.

We KNOW that isn't even close to being true.

He's going to impose the same 25% tariff on all the other companies similar to Apple unless they move their production to the United States.

On an unrelated topic, he says that a large number of students at Harvard can't even do basic math which is proof they aren't getting an education there.

Trump continues to do major damage for minimal  to 0 gains.

His fairy tale, delusional interpretations included promising us in early April that the world's countries would be begging for deals with the United States because of his tariffs threats.

It's now been 52 days since Trump's fake "Liberation Day" tariffs were announced.

Where are all these great deals?

When a mediocre deal is made with the UK, MAGA cheered wildly "see we told you!"

The White House makes laughable press releases about Trump backing down as victories......that have to substitute for any substantive gains in the midst of all the impending damage from a blatantly ignorant understanding of the indisputable principles that define trade imbalances and manufacturing/production 101.

As he decimates his credibility around the world and damages many long lived strong relationships based on mutual respect  in favor of taking bribes from other rich nations to establish new relationships based on corruption.

Truly, his leadership as the world's most powerful man is based on being an extreme bully that is driven by his delusions of grandeur mental illness thinking.

Winning the election last November, while being legit and certainly justifies pursuing the agenda that he promised us to get elected.

It does not entitle him to the galactic abuse of his power around the world which also includes in our faces corruption.

90 Deals in 90 Days? Trump's Trade War Is Failing on Its Own Terms

The trade deficit is getting bigger, the deals aren't coming, and foreign investment has declined.

https://reason.com/2025/06/27/90-deals-in-90-days-trumps-trade-war-is-failing-on-its-own-terms/

First, data from the Commerce Department showed that America's trade deficit—the gap between the value of all imports and all exports—widened to $96.6 billion in May. That's an 11 percent increase over April. The main culprit in the growing trade deficit was a decline in exports (which fell by $9.7 billion) even as imports stayed flat.

Again, this shows the failure of the trade war's fundamental premise. Rather than encouraging more investment and production in the United States, the higher costs and economic uncertainty created by tariffs (and the threat of tariffs) is reducing those very investments.

One final data point worth considering: As of June 24, the Treasury Department reported collecting more than $26.7 billion in tariff revenue this month, up from $22 billion in the month of May and $17.4 billion in April. That's the direct cost of the trade war: the dollars coming out of Americans' wallets and businesses' accounts as they buy imported goods.

When Trump announced those "Liberation Day" tariffs, he said any pain from the new tariffs would be offset by all the benefits. "We will supercharge our domestic industrial base. We will pry open foreign markets and break down foreign trade barriers, and ultimately, more production at home will mean stronger competition and lower prices for consumers," Trump promised on April 2, which he said would be remembered as "the day that we began to make America wealthy again."

None of that has happened.

There are not going to be 90 deals in 90 days—or by September 1. It's time for the Trump administration to cut its losses, remove the tariffs, and end this foolish trade war with the entire globe.

++++++++++++

Everybody with a lick of understanding about the principles of global trading between rich countries and poor countries knew with extremely high certainty that this COULD NEVER WORK and was going to be counterproductive.

President Trump clearly lacks the ability to comprehend this. Ironically, he pretends to be brilliant and constantly makes personal attacks on people that disagree with him, often calling them dumb or having low intelligence. His followers assume that he's so brilliant that his adversaries don't understand him and they call everybody TDS for seeing the real Donald Trump.

The completely blundering and backfiring, absurd tariff schemes by Donald Trump are just another really bad example of who he is............and his mental illness(delusions of grandeur-pathological thinking) is getting worse!

+++++++++++

6-28-25: On this latest news. Canada is likely to come to some sort of  favorable agreement(concession) with Trump and then he will be bragging profusely about how his tariffs have resulted in great deals like this one..........regardless of what the reality is.

All we need now is around 200 times more news like this in the next 10 days (Trump's deadline) for the Trump tariff schemes to be worth it.

My guess is that Trump will extend the deadlines again so he never has to be held accountable for this plan. He just keeps failing in front of every deadline...........then extending the deadlines and pretending he didn't fail.

It would be like a 9 inning baseball game that a team loses 15 to 1 but the team with 1 run gets to change the length of the game to 12 innings. Then they score another run and its 19-2 but they extend the game to 18 innings.

And the team with 2 runs and their spectators are all convinced they will win a 21 inning game. Instead of scoring runs to win, they just keep extending the length of the game so they don't have to acknowledge THEY LOST and THEY LOST BIG!

In this game, Trump could actually cancel everything and go back to the way things were for the most part with only a bruised ego for being such a bad global economy deal maker and manager using principles that define the global dynamics.

Maybe in an alternate universe where everybody is the exact opposite of who they are today that could happen

President Trumps mental illness that features pathological thinking and delusions of grandeur is continuing to get worse.  He is extremely unpredictable. Constantly violating and contradicting things that he promised days, weeks and months ago.....or to get elected. Just totally making things up that we all know are lies.

What's even more amazing is that Fox News repeats all of Trumps lies and insists they are President Trump living up to all his promises. This is like living in an alternative universe.

They are doing this for ratings and agenda. Fox has captured the brains of MAGA and others by telling lies that people want to hear. Millions come back on a regular basis to get their deception fix.

I know this because I watch them on a regular basis to understand what they are doing and be entertained with their political fiction reporting.  Most sadly, its  oozing with hate and intolerance.

Trump constantly watches Fox and this is giving him tremendous positive reinforcement when instead, somebody with his condition should be getting intensive mental health therapy from a psychiatrist.

His mental illness is causing extreme chaos and dysfunction in our country and as the worlds more powerful person, globally.

No TACO Tuesday: Trump insists Aug. 1 tariff deadline won’t be extended

https://www.politico.com/news/2025/07/08/trump-tariff-deadline-august-1-00442034

Trump has repeatedly changed his tune on how final his tariff deadlines are.

Trump then insisted that unilaterally informing a country of its tariff rate in a letter “means a deal,” because it’s often too “complicated” to actually negotiate an agreement with them.

Back in April, Trump announced reciprocal tariffs ranging up to 50 percent on nearly 60 trading partners, but then delayed them from going into effect until July 9 to give countries time to negotiate new trade agreements to avoid the tariffs.

However, when asked by a reporter during the Cabinet about his decision to extend the tariff implementation date until Aug. 1, Trump insisted that had always been the deadline.

“It’s always been Aug. 1. That’s all, paying it. A statement was being put out today, and I put it out just to make it clear. It wasn’t a change. It was Aug. 1,” Trump said, despite having to sign a new executive order Monday to extend the July 9 deadline.

Trump has repeatedly set tariff deadlines in his global trade war over the last several months, only to walk them back at the last minute.

Trump even told reporters Monday that the Aug. 1 deadline was “firm, but not 100 percent firm.”

With regards to the stock market. I believe its more like a Ponzi scheme,  where rich people keep piling on money, not based on the value of companies in the stock market going up but a self fulfilling, fake value trading justification dominating the mindset of large traders.

A piece of dog doo doo(extreme example) could be worth $1,000 if people were buying and selling it on an open market and the buyers, had confidence that it's value was going even higher, to $1,500 because other buyers were doing the same thing. and the sellers, that knew it was a pile of crap were outnumbered and many of them, just get out of the way or get run over by the large specs that have complete control and WANT the price to go higher for personal enrichment NOT for assessing the intrinsic value of the stocks.

Anybody that thinks most of the stocks going up from this Ponzi scheme is the result of their intrinsic(true) value going is deluding themselves.

One can make the case that everything is worth whatever people/traders/investors are willing to pay for it. That's exactly true in this realm, with my dog doo doo demonstrating that principle.

The stock market value will gyrate up and down with good and bad news giving the FALSE ILLUSION that it's trading, mostly based on economic and financial news. It is doing that while the underlying, longer term dog doo doo principle causes it to grind higher, INDEPENDENT of it representing an actual correlation to those companies between higher stock values with their intrinsic values in the real world.

6 Factors That Determine Your Company’s Valuation

https://hbr.org/2022/10/6-factors-that-determine-your-companys-valuation

These six factors are:

  • Weighted forecasts of growth in company revenue
  • Weighted forecasts of growth in company margin
  • Patterns of cash returned to shareholders
  • Changes in the company’s debt-to-equity ratio
  • The economic conditions in the company’s industry
  • Market volatility in the geographic areas in which the industry’s major companies compete

++++++++++++++++++++++++

The stock market has tripled in price the last decade.  No way the individual stocks in the stock indices have tripled their growth and revenue the last 10 years. Most of them have not even doubled. But the stock market is DETACHED from the real world. It's nothing but speculative money used in Ponzi scheme fashion to ASSIGN whatever value the speculators want and project to maintain the Ponzi scheme.

The constant move up has been with an increasing slope with time because speculators/investors are more and more drawn to pumping money into it, like with most Ponzi schemes.  Even the Trump tariffs, economy damaging nonsense scheme caused a correction low that was at a GREATER SLOPE HIGHER than the previous lows which defined to earlier trends.  I would not call this a parabolic/exponential move until the slope is twi(and this can go on for years and years but a bad recession might end it).

https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/stock-market

The crypto currency/bitcoing bubble was based on a similar, MUCH more unstable principle because the stock market, at least is using fundamentals and real companies but just tacking on value that isn't really there.

Cryptocurrency bubble

Will the stock market eventually have a reckoning time frame that corrects the price down closer to intrinsic/true value?

Maybe but history shows that when it does correct severely, the huge money steps in and renews the Ponzi scheme mentality because its been a better way to make money, consistently the last 100 years than the vast majority of other investments.

A major recession, WORSE than COVID in 2020 WOULD cause, at least a temporary correction. Note on the top graph of the stock market, that the big spike lower in 2020 was followed by INCREASED buying to generate an even STEEPER uptrend than before COVID.

The April 2025 Trump tariffs low defined by the spike bottom indicated a slightly steeper uptrend slope yet. New highs recently suggest that the NEW uptrend slope is getting steeper yet, especially as it completely ignores lots of bad news from Trump.

The TACO trade is backfiring on Wall Street as Trump seizes on stock market highs to charge ahead with tariffs

But Trump has seized on those very same stock market highs to justify pressing ahead with his aggressive tariff rates.  “I think the tariffs have been very well received. The stock market hit a new high today,” he told NBC News on Thursday.

Trump threatens steep tariffs on goods from the E.U. and Mexico, starting on Aug. 1.

https://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/07/12/us/trump-news

President Trump announced in letters posted to social media on Saturday that he would place a 30 percent tariff on goods from the European Union and Mexico, upending months of careful negotiations and disrupting America’s economic relationships with two of its biggest trading partners.

Mr. Trump’s tariffs would take effect on Aug. 1, like those on many other trading partners.

++++++++++++

As shown umpteen times, this is just more evidence that President Trump is mentally ill. This is more than just a guy that lacks comprehension about global trading and economic principles. He has plenty of advisors(though some of them are afraid to contradict him) that know better and it takes half a brain to know much better. He is obsessed with his perceived infallible ability to command the world, abusing his position as the most powerful person on the planet.

Seriously, this gets most of the weight in his decisions and it trumps common sense/critical thinking and good judgment.

What is debatable is why so many people interpret hi behavior as  his brilliance when its his blundering.

Mostly, they are just treating this as a religion.........that they want to be true. With stations like Fox and the R politicians USING THEM AND STEALING THEIR INTELLIGENCE for the political agenda and personal enrichment(profits).

+++++++++++++

The adoration of SuperTrump from MAGA, Fox and others are the positive reinforcement fuel that is causing his mental illness to progress so rapidly, when he should be getting treatment from a psychiatric professional.

There is a HUGE difference in this man from the previous time that he was president, mostly because of the progressive nature of his mental illness that includes having reinforcement from control of both houses this time and them also  having the TAS. Trump Adoration Syndrome. Some of them are completely driven more by fear of Trump's ability to wreck their careers if they don't fall in line and the always important, ethically bankrupt principle of always enthusiastically supporting everything from your party, no matter how bad it is.

I love Rand Paul for being the opposite of this.

Trump was interviewed on sunday and he was rambling on about how he and 1 other person got his tariffs policy exactly right. 50 other economists said he was wrong but only he got the tariffs policy right and now they all look stupid because he got it exactly right.

His mental illness is progressing.

Hes claiming victory on his tariffs blunder  after claiming there would be 90 deals in 90 days and he got 2 mediocre deals.

This would be like a MLB team having a record of 2-88 and claiming they were champs of their division.

he apparently thinks that collecting the tariff is the victory and is not capable of comprehending  the rest of it, the tremendous downside in the making because his mentally ill mind won’t allow him to interpret any actions as being mistakes.

He is very dangerous  with delusions of this magnitude and in the midst of  trying to grab as much power as possible with both houses controlled by  his party in a profession of morally bankrupt, agenda driven crud’s  that put politics ahead of Humanity And common sense.

AND that the stock market hitting new highs means that the market is rewarding him for his brilliant tariffs schemes.

Seriously, that's how he's interpreting it

Trump threatens Russia with tariffs and boosts US weapons for Ukraine

https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-war-trump-patriot-missiles-kellogg-ca8cda9b417737188c471390bc312a5d

‘Weapons flowing at a record level’

A top ally of Trump, Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, said Sunday that the conflict is nearing an inflection point as Trump shows growing interest in helping Ukraine fight back against Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Although Trump had previously dismissed the effort as a waste of U.S. taxpayer money, Graham told CBS’ “Face the Nation” that “you’ll see weapons flowing at a record level.”

The legislation increases sanctions and places 500% tariffs on products imported from countries that buy Russian oil, gas and other exports. Trump on Monday proposed unilaterally implementing 100% tariffs.

“I use trade for a lot of things,” he said. “But it’s great for settling wars.”

Adding a 100% tariff on China, on top of import taxes already in place, would essentially halt trade between the United States and China, the world’s two largest economies.

+++++++++++++

Trump has been bragging constantly about how his crazy tariffs schemes have been so successful (in his delusional mind).  He really is convinced of this. Unbelievable. They have been an almost complete failure(other than us collecting the tariff money). They absolutely do punish US consumers and free trade, which will be getting passed on to us later this year after US companies work thru inventory and have to pass on their higher cost for products they sell.

Now, drunk with delusional power over his backfiring tariffs that only brought 2 crappy deals in 90 days, not 90 he wants to expand the potential damage to free trade and punish US consumers even more and distance trading partners even more with his new tariffs as he practices America LAST and continues to display lack of comprehension of the principles of global trade between countries.

He's obsessed with collecting  tariffs and completely blind to how this is punishing us in 3 ways.

1. The tariffs will cause consumers to pay a higher price for goods from other countries later this year. It's just basic math.

2. It's reducing trade with other countries that includes our exports, especially as other countries respond in kind to his loony tariffs by putting tariffs on our goods they buy from us.  Have you noticed how much soybeans that China has bought from us recently? Usually our biggest customer. NOTHING. He's screwing our farmers.

3. Trumps punishing other countries with tariffs  is wrecking long term trading relationships between us and all these countries. Their response is going to be replacing the trade between us by making NEW long term relationships with other countries that use free trade. A smart president that understood the principles of global free trade between rich and poor countries would be trying to ENCOURAGE MORE TRADE between the United States and other counties. His actions are doing the 100% opposite of that and it will cause long term damage to the United States on both sides of the trade. Not maybe but FOR SURE!!!! He is completely unable to comprehend this!

His tariffs on China, for instance are backfiring. Instead of punishing China.......he's punishing the United States!!1

China's exports are booming despite Trump's tariffs. What's behind the numbers

If Trump’s goal was to isolate and weaken China, the latest export numbers suggest the opposite may be happening

https://qz.com/china-exports-trump-tariffs

In that case, the consequences could be broad. Targeting these flows could increase prices for U.S. consumers and complicate already-fragile supply chains, all the more so if the rules shift faster than companies can adapt.

Could U.S. tariff policy be benefiting China?

Another possibility for booming Chinese exports: U.S. policy may be, in effect, helping China. By targeting a wide swath of countries with tariffs — not just China but also longtime allies like the E.U.,  Mexico, Japan, and South Korea — the Trump administration may have created an incentive for other countries to deepen trade ties with Beijing, effectively creating more demand for Chinese goods, not less.

Similarly, a recent Invesco survey found that almost 60% of global sovereign wealth funds plan to increase their investments in China over the next five years, citing the country’s strength in advanced tech and clean energy. That's a sign geopolitical headwinds may be pushing capital toward, not away from, Beijing.

If so, such an outcome would be ironic. If Trump’s goal was to isolate and weaken China, the latest export numbers suggest the opposite may be happening.

+++++++++

This was so predictable but Trump will never be able to comprehend it. He lives in a make believe world that features Donald Trump the omnipotent one.

Karen Braun@kannbwx

China imported 12.26 million metric tons of #soybeans in June, a record for the month and up 10% from last year. That was due to strong Brazilian shipments. Nine months into 2024/25, total arrivals stood at 72.6 mmt, behind only 2020/21.

Sadly, the US missed out on most of this because of Trumps tariffs.

Trump's Brazil tariffs are 'grotesquely illegal,' says Nobel Prize-winning economist

https://www.npr.org/2025/07/14/nx-s1-5464923/nobel-prize-winning-economist-paul-krugman-discusses-trumps-use-of-tariffs

Most of the letters indicated that the new tariffs — 30% for most — were intended to rectify trade imbalances with the U.S. But the letter to Brazil cited Brazilian politics and said there was a "witch hunt" against Brazil's former far-right president Jair Bolsonaro, who is currently on trial for trying to overturn the country's 2022 election. Trump demanded the case be dropped or the U.S. will impose a 50% tariff on all Brazilian exports.

+++++++++++++++

Mr. America First is being anything but America First. Bombing Iran in the middle of his peace talks, unprovoked and against International law for his friend, psychopath Ben Netanyahu. Insisting that he's going to save Netanyahu with his omnipotence by getting Israel to drop the charges against him(calling it a witch hunt).

Now, punishing Brazil with a 50% tariff threat(after insisting his tariffs were to fix trade deficits), a country that we have a trade SURPLUS with for the entire reason of interfering with their politics to help his far right friend in Brazil. WOW!

Several days ago, he threatened to impose tariffs on any countries that do business with Russia, which has nothing to do with a trade imbalance between us and any of those countries. Now he's using tariffs even MORE illegally than before for whatever he feels like using them for.

More evidence of what I've been insisting on this year.

Donald Trump's mental illness and pathological thinking is advancing/becoming worse as his almost unlimited power grab with very little accountability, even for doing really dumb things is giving him positive reinforcement.

MAGA, Fox and others with TAS(Trump adoring syndrome) constantly cheer him on which provides more and more fuel to pump up his ego and make him convinced that's he's infallible.

Nothing anything like this has happened in US history. Not even close in my lifetime. This is a potentially dangerous moment in American history. He is so unpredictable, unstable and unchecked and could do something really, really stupid. Worse than what he's done so far.

In November 2026, both houses will lose R seats and the D's will likely gain the majority, entirely because of  Mr. Trump 0a and then we can restore a balance of power with the Ds having 2 votes to oppose some of his nonsense.

Their first order of business will be to IMPEACH Donald Trump.  There are half a dozen VERY LEGIT reasons to impeach him right now. The house will have the votes to impeach him with a majority Ds.

However, the Senate needs 2/3rds majority to impeach, then remove him and its unlikely that many Rs will vote with EVERY D to impeach him in the Senate. So only the impeachment from the House will stand as he remains in office.

Ironically, removing him from office would be the best thing that could happen to the Rs.

In 2028, the majority of Americans will be looking to hold the Rs accountable for this rogue president and his R cult in the House and Senate.  I will be very surprised if we don't start 2029 with the Ds in control of both houses and the White House.
