gee, kind of thought might see a bunch of posts here reporting the Canadian fold on tariffs. Guess good news for America is seldom good news to report.

one crack in the stock market, one bad day in a world wide reset for Americans, or even one wild untrue rumor is far more important to get tossed around.

Got to remember, report any good news for America could make someone a major MAGA, Hitler or worse.

Since you want to talk about our relationship with Canada, mcfarm I'll be more than happy to engage with you.

If the news was 99% negative about the tariffs, MAGA would report only the other 1%!

all that you report is suspicious if you read what the every day Canadian thinks of his leaders v Americans and this post above also. I happen to be in a trading group with several Canadians. Granted they are more "rural" and conservative as compared to their wacked pols but they also do not ever report what you do

mcfarm,

You just posted an article from over 2 months ago.

I can't speak for your little group that has a few conservative Canadians in it  but can tell you with the most extreme confidence that President Trump has single handedly  decimated a century old wonderful relationship with our closest ally and trading partner, Canada.

His off the charts demeaning and bombastic statements intended to rile up Canadians to feed his pathological thinking and ego has done permanent damage that will take many, many years to repair if ever.

With almost no benefits other than to his delusions of grandeur mentality.

My wife has numerous MAJOR business partners from Canada. Several were previous Trump supporters (one of them loved Trump) but no surprise, they hate his guts now.

How would that not be the case after what Trump did to them? After what Trump said to them?

This isn't a country on the other side of an ocean. It's our closest neighbor and ally and most trusted friend and trading partner..........until Trump WRECKED the relationship.

Is Canada’s Relationship With the United States Over?

The more significant issue, though, will be trust. With tariffs, Trump is violating a trade agreement he negotiated, rendering future deals less reliable in the eyes of Canadians. However, the threat of taking over Canada makes restoring the old relationship unlikely, and citizens are using their power to make this known. Canadians are boycotting American products and canceling U.S. travel plans, leading to a 70 percent decrease in flight bookings—and a potential loss of billions for the American tourism sector. Most Canadians see their upcoming vote as more important than ever before. Carney was reading the room when he proclaimed that Canada’s relationship with the United States was over.

Trump pressed hard to get Canada to agree to his NAFTA 2 trade agreement in his first term, which he signed with promises good until 2026.

Then tore it up to start his 2nd term because of pathological thinking.

Why wouldn't so many Canadians now think of the US as an adversary instead of an ally???

Trump crapped all over them .......over and over and is 100% responsible for turning a wonderful ally into an adversary that no longer trusts us.

And its not even debatable that Trump did this and more to Canada.

You can pretend it didn't happen and live a MAGA fairy tale version of the facts if you want by watching Fox and tuning into only sources that tell you what you wish was true and that worship Trump's words and actions without ever questioning any of his nonsense.

On Canada, this is nonsense on steroids and crack cocaine, doing profound, permanent damage by kicking our most trusted ally in the teeth, over and over.

No president or leader would ever digress to such disgraceful, dishonorable, disrespectful and damaging behavior......except for Donald Trump!

To my Canadian friends: I'm so embarrassed and sorry for this. I hope you'll understand that most of us are not like this and no matter how difficult it is to not take it personal(even as Trump gives you every reason to) and Trumps time in office is temporary.
