the yield curve stop narrowing about mid December.  

since then, long rates have risen more than short rates.  

and more importantly,  the 30 yr rate is about to break out of its long term down trend.  

look at a long term chart of TYX  ,  once that 30 yr rate breaks out it could have a good run.
